Well, the Friday Five appears to be MIA once again... except this time, I can't even access the webpage! But I do have "End of the Work Week Wisdom"...

"My doctor said I have a Malformed Public Duty gland, and that I am severely lacking in moral fiber. Therefore, I am exempt from saving the universe today."
--I know it's from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, and I'm thinking it's Arthur Dent that said it... and if I'm wrong, I'm sure the SonofaBritsch will correct me... :)

Other than that, I'm actually going to be somewhat busy at work today, since I'm working through my usual lunch break so that I can leave an hour early... I want to get to Broken Sword as early as I can... we're raiding Elysium tonight! :)

It's kinda odd... over the winter, the Old Man used to tease me because every time there was Broken Sword on Friday, I would spend most of the Thursday before saying that Morgan was gonna die... I was convinced that one of the other PCs in the game would find something about me that they found reprehensible, and would take it upon themselves to take me out of the picture. Obviously, that never happened! Now, with the raid on Elysium, there is a pretty good chance that Morgan will go down, and I'm not really all that worried about it!

I think it has something to do with the fact that the chronicle is (probably) drawing to a close really soon. I've never actually been in this position before, as a player. All of the other LARP chronicles that I've taken part in have died horrible deaths... like ALL of the players simply stop showing up... or the STs give up, take their toys, and go home... in fact, in the four years in which I've been LARPing, my own year-long chronicle was the only one that had a "happy" ending, and there is only one game that has lasted for more than a single academic year! So I've never really been in a chronicle that was going to come to a close and be left behind... as such, I'm not really sure as to whether I should try to be one of the few survivors, or whether I should go out in a blaze of glory... I'm more inclined towards the blaze of glory route, but only if it makes for a good story... running in and fighting the Cammies with my bare hands until they take me out is a lot less appealing than being sneaky with hit and run tactics until I get caught... :)

A while ago, I was thinking about the characters that are currently in the game, and how long they've all been around, and how long I've been around. I started playing in Broken Sword in February of 2001. With the exception of the month I missed last year (March), because I was moving into my house, and the month I skipped this year (April), because Morgan was in St. Charles, I'm like the only character that has stayed in the city for that entire time... the Archbishop, Lucent, and James went to New York City, Akasha went to Mexico City, Ja'Dan was not himself for a while, Wilhelm / Bill was MIA for a while, Arthur / Mal / Enoch was in torpor for a while, etc., etc., etc... so although there are older characters than Morgan, it feels like she's been there longer than anyone else... at least to me!

So she's my longest running LARP character, and she's really developed over the time in which I've played her. But I'm willing to let her go, as long as it makes for a good story... so if this is Morgan's eulogy, so be it... just as long as I've got a good story to put here on Monday morning! :)
