Whee!

So I don't watch "Smallville." Never have, probably never will. I'm just not much of a Superman sort of girl. I like my superheroes a little less wholesome, I think. :) But "Smallville" is on right before "Supernatural," and so when Jerome turned on the TV last night, it was still on.

Now in the midst of his complaining about the fact that the guy on the screen was supposed to be Doomsday, and how wrong that was, I noticed the music they were playing in the background... more specifically, I _recognized_ the music they were playing. VAST! I was astounded! VAST has always been one of those bands that a handful of people I know have heard of, and here they are getting national television air time. Neat! :)

And of course, this really doesn't have much of a point. Just me being excited that a band I like(d... don't really care for a lot of their newer stuff) was on TV. :) I somehow only half watched "Supernatural," even though I know it was the mid-season big deal episode, but at least it wasn't a cliffhanger. I've missed at least 3 episodes this season, which have apparently contained all of the meta-plot, and so I'm utterly lost. *sigh*

Ah well, in good news, we should have the first two discs of Season 4 of Doctor Who, which means I will finally get to see the episode with the Adipose Babies. I already know all about them, though, as I made one that will be winging it's way to Paige soon, along with a Dalek. :) She's making Jerome some SWEET Clockwork Orange plugs in exchange. :)

Argh. Aggravated today. I'll be fine after work, but for now, I am aggravated.

This is what the "make me happy!" playlist is for... but somehow, think starting out with "Bat Country" just made me angry... ;)

Other news of the day:
- VAST is FINALLY touring, and coming to Little Rock and Chicago, both of which are about 5 hours away from C-dale. This is probably the closest they're going to get, so I think we're gonna have to road trip it. I'm okay with this. Though I still wish they'd play St. Louis. *sigh*
- The weather might be turning normal again. Maybe.

Mantra for the day: at least it's Wednesday.

So yeah, VAST has a new quasi-CD out. I say quasi-CD, because it's not actually a physical CD, much like "Crimson" and "Turquoise" were originally done. It's available as a download for $5.99 here, and that's a really good deal for a "CD"... :)

As to the music, well, I like it. It's very much in a similar vein to "Crimson" and "Turquoise," which means a bit lighter and mellower than the stuff from "Visual Audio Sensory Theatre" and "Music for People." There are a couple of songs that almost start to rock out, but it doesn't quite qualify as rocking out, when it comes to VAST. :)

At any rate, it's definitely worth checking out if you like VAST, which I do. :)

No tour dates still. Other than in Texas. And only 2 of those. :(

In other news, the rain from yesterday is done, and it looks like a somewhat clear day... for today... it's supposed to rain again this weekend. This makes me an unhappy camper because Brat Pack is playing the beer garden at Copper on Saturday night, and it's on the list of possibilities for what we're gonna do Saturday night. If it rains, it goes off of the list. :(
