So I sort of forgot to keep posting last week while in Laguna Niguel. I'd say the sun fried my brain, but I really didn't see that much sun while I was there. The sun was setting around 5 p.m. daily, and we left the Archives around 4:15 or so every day. By the time we drove back to the hotel, it was pretty much beginning to get dark out, and by the time we went to eat, it was always dark.
We did head out to Laguna Beach on Thursday after work, though, to see the sunset and get right up next to the ocean. We all ran and touched the surf after a rather high rush of water forced us to run. If it weren't for not having any good way to get the sand off of my feet when I was done, I would have ditched my shoes and socks and rolled up my capris to play in the water. :) I'm so much like those little kids who like play in the mud or whatever, and then are like "ewww, icky, get it off of me!" :)
Got back Friday and saw my first snowfall of this winter as the cab drove me away from the airport. It didn't start back up again until Saturday night, while I was at my office Christmas party. I kept eyeballing the snow, making sure it wasn't sticking, and even texted Jerome to find out if it was snowing on our side of the lake. He said it wasn't, but by the time Ann and I left, it was snowing heavier at the apartment than it had been in Kirkland!
Woke up Sunday to everything still covered in snow. For those of you who don't live in Seattle, this doesn't happen much here. I was a little concerned because even the parking lot still had snow on it, and the temperatures were staying below freezing. I braved the ice and ickiness though, so I could go meet up with Jeremy for coffee. I insisted that we were WALKING to the coffee shop, however. :)
After that, Jeremy ran his one shot of Army of Darkness rules (though set during the French Revolution), and I literally laughed until my face hurt. We had a particularly wacky cast of characters, and so much geekiness in the room that it probably should have exploded or something. Multi-genre geekiness, in fact. Good times, and I think I'm going to be playing in other one shots with the same crowd. I'm sure this means I'll be persuaded to run eventually, so I've gotta dust off one of the systems I've bought and never touched... leaning heavily towards All Flesh Must Be Eaten, because who doesn't like zombies?
The. End.

They're Here!

Introducing, the Decapitated Dollies! This is the new line that I've been going on about for months now... :)
The whole idea behind starting the line was the fact that people are always telling me that I'm not really scary. And I suppose that's true. But I wanted to have something in my shop that fit the same "ScaryWhiteGirl." So the first thing I made was a LARGE version of what has become the Decapitated Dollies. This was going to be my new mascot. Jerome was sufficiently creeped out by the fact that I made a crocheted head that vaguely resembles me, so I declared myself accomplished at my goal.
However, the large version took me a long time to make, and is about the size of a grapefruit (plus hair). So I scaled it down a bit for the line that I'm going to sell on Etsy. Of course, if someone really wants a grapefruit sized Decapitated Dollie, and is willing to pay for the larger version, I'd happily make more. :)
You can see the large version in my banner and avatar on Etsy, and more of the smaller versions will be popping up in the shop this week. I started with Nightshade, the zombie Decapitated Dollie, because she's probably my favorite of the small ones. I think there will be many more zombies to come. :)

Ugh...
I told Jerome that I think I left my brain at Kinko's. I suspect it's somewhere near the large format copier, as that machine stole about an hour of my life today. The regular copiers stole another hour. Gotta love "rushrushrush must be done now" copying, when the office machine can't handle any of it.
In the bad movies category, we found another B-horror movie that was too bad to be watched. It's called "Zombie Night," and it's very low budget and poorly acted. My first clue? The fact that the main characters have the same names as the (married to each other) authors. Oh, and that there is bad goth poetry before the movie starts.
So now we're up to two bad B-horror movies in the past year and a half that have been turned off within 15 minutes. This may be a record for me, since I can only remember two other movies that I refused to watch all the way through, no matter how bad. "Playing God" and "The Saint." There have been other movies that I haven't finished watching, but very few that I have flat out said "okay, I'm done with this." For the record, I reached that point with "Zombie Night" on the DVD menu. :)
Jerome seems to have interspersed our entire Netflix queue with B-horror movies and a huge block of 80s cartoons... I think I should scramble it up some more... :)

B r a i n s
So about the only End of the Work Week Wisdom I would be able to come up with right now is to stagger around like a zombie, saying "Braaaaaaaains." So yeah, that's not all that much wisdom. My apologies.
And, I need another project at work, cuz I finished my alleged "big" project. It was not nearly as big as anticipated.
Going to set up for the Punk Rock Flea Market this evening, and thanks to JuliaJae, I have a ride there this evening and tomorrow morning! w00t! :) I love the EtsyRain folks--so many of them have been absolutely wonderful people, and very helpful! :) (P.S. She sells all sorts of cute jewelry, so go check it out!)
This weekend is gonna be nothing but go-go-go, if I'm not careful. I think I will try to make myself sleep late on Sunday, and probably skip I Heart Rummage, just so that I actually get to relax at some point. :)

The Scary White Girl has returned from the land of the living dead! :) No, seriously... I felt like a zombie on Sunday... it had something to do with not getting to sleep till at least 3 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday morning... and getting only about 4 hours of sleep on Saturday morning... *sigh*... I guess I'm getting old... can't do the "stay up all weekend" thing anymore... :) Then again, Gabe was a zombie on Sunday as well, so maybe it's not an age thing... :)
So I'm back at work now... this upcoming weekend won't be nearly as bad, because although there are many scheduled events, they won't last nearly as late... definitely a plus! :) Still, I will probably feel like a chicken with my head cut off by next Sunday... but hopefully not a zombie... :)
I just had some random thought about instead of being a zombie, I'd be a part of summoning a zombie... definitely been reading a bit much Anita Blake lately (and remembering stuff I haven't read yet)... but it's fun stuff... and even more amusing when Catalina, Peaches, and Dani start chatting about them in game... cuz we've all read them, or been reading them... Dani is QUITE amused with what she's read... :)
