That's right, it has returned! But this may be a one time thing, just because I needed to find and post this quote.
"I will eat all the leaves on this tree. I will eat more leaves than I should and then other giraffes may die. Ah-ha-ha. I am an evil herbivore."
--Eddie Izzard as the evil giraffe
This is mainly because I have apparently been misquoting this for a while now. My version was actually kinder to those poor non-evil giraffes. I think Jeremy may be more traumatized if I tell him that the other giraffes will die because he ate the last Dessert Pocky. :)
In case you haven't figured it out? My boyfriend and I are a bit silly. And have lots of Pocky because he went to Uwajimaya on his day off. :)

And, we're back...
Coming back to work after a five day weekend is hard. Staying home and being lazy again sounded like a wonderful idea this morning, but I knew there was stuff I needed to do here. I just wasn't sure what that stuff was till I got back in my office and reviewed all of my stacks of stuff. :)
So the very quick weekend recap:
1) Lots of fun with Jerome's sister, who came to visit for his birthday.
2) Hellboy II was FAR better than the first one, and used one of my very favorite songs in the world. :)
3) Eddie Izzard is hilarious, even if you have a tall person sitting directly in front of you. I guess that's the downside to sitting dead center (in the 3rd balcony)--it's pretty much guaranteed that he will spend most of the show directly in front of you, but so will a bunch of other people. :(
4) Sitting at the airport for 3+ hours is no fun.
Jerome's dad arrived safely, though, just a bit later than originally planned. Jerome is still off work all this week so that they can do stuff, but I'm at work while they have fun. Ah well, they're each going to cook one night this week, so that's exciting. :)

Movie Review: Prince Caspian
So we made it out to see Prince Caspian tonight, which I'm calling by the abbreviated title because the full one is way too long to type. :) Overall, pretty good movie. However, I think I liked the first one better, and Jerome thinks he liked this one better. Main reason for his choice? He liked the combat sequences in this one better. :)
I really don't remember the book (if I ever read it), so I can't really make much of a comparison there. It also seems to me that perhaps they toned down the Christianity bits considerably, so that part sat better with me. There was even a bit of a Poseidon-like character, which was pretty neat. :)
Best part, however, is Eddie Izzard as the voice of a swashbuckling mouse. I have this brilliant idea now that they should make a Puss N' Boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas) vs. the swashbuckling Narnia mouse movie. It would be brilliant. They could have blue people! (*)
So yeah, definitely worth seeing, and you should be able to take most kids to it. The violence is pretty intense, though, so some of the younger ones might not deal too well with that.
In other movie news, I'm pleased to see that Brendan Fraser is working again. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D AND a new Mummy movie? I'm in heaven. :) (Even if Rachel Weiss is NOT in the new Mummy movie... Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh are!)
(*) Across the Universe reference.

Sugar Scrub & Bees
Through a long and convoluted train of thought (as the best ones always are), Jerome and I got on the subject of sugar scrubs and bees again last night. Of course, I don't think I've ever explained the theory of sugar scrubs and bees, at least the way it works in Jerome's mind.
See, Jerome thinks that it's a horrible idea to scrub yourself with sugar, because he is convinced that if you do, the bees will get you. I try to tell him that this theory is invalid, because you would wash all of the sugar off of you before the bees would get a chance to get to you (I'm pretty sure bees won't attack you in the shower, because they don't like water much). He still persists that the bees will get you if you use sugar scrub.
I told him that one of these days, I'm just going to take the risk and buy some sugar scrub. He tells me that he doesn't want the bees to get me. I don't think I can win this one. :)
So yes, the only appropriate End of the Work Week Wisdom is one that I may have used before, but I don't care! :p

Enough said. :)

Monday Mission isn't up yet... I might catch it later... we shall see...
Had a generally good weekend... the highlight, aside from the movies, was that we got a few more boxes of HeroClix, and played a couple games of that... the conclusion: Cyclops is a bad, bad man... :) And playing with 2 big baddies against 5 or 6 little guys is a sure way to get the baddies killed off quick... :) But we now have a big piece of Lucite to go over the map! :) So that will make playing a whole lot easier!
As for movies, why yes, we watched a couple! :)
First one was "Comic Book Villians"... rather odd movie, but it was pretty funny... of course, there are two scenes that even a casual comic book reader/collector will practically cry about... one involves water, and the other involves fire... but that's all I want to say about that... :)
The other one was "The Cat's Meow"... and it was quite good! It's about the death of Thomas Ince, who was a 1920s movie mogul... the interesting part is that his death was at least allegedly related to his birthday weekend on William Randolph Hearst's boat... so you get to learn a lot about Hearst, and some of the other people that were on this trip... like Charlie Chaplin (played by Eddie Izzard... :) )... at any rate, it's a very good movie, and I highly recommend it... :)
