Whew.

We survived the month of too much travelling. Now I'm just staying put until work tells me I'm travelling again... but I think I've got at least 3 weeks at home, for which I am very grateful. :)

I wore my pair of Cthulhu bun covers for a few hours on Friday night, and discovered that as my hair has gotten longer, they're a little snug. So I think I'm going to be creating a slightly larger size for people with longer, thicker hair, like me. So I'll probably be making larger bun covers of all varieties, at least when I get the chance. So much to do, so little time! :)

This week's non-crafting project involves us trying to get a handle on our "office," which would probably be the dining room in most people's houses or apartments. But really, the little space where the computer lives would probably be too small for our dining room table, and the spot in the living room where the dining room table lives probably doesn't have any internet hookups. So we make due with what we've got. :) We're going to try to get the office slightly more functional as an office space, and hopefully open up a bit of closet space for more of my craft stuff. :)

And of course there's also the 8 billion other things that we need to get done. But the only way to tackle it is one at a time. And the office has been bad for too long. :)

Office picture! :)

The strange shaped building out my window

Okay, so it's not of my office, but rather of the view. I think that most of the Seattle readers of this blog will recognize the strange building in this picture. I've heard it called the Mariners Building, cuz there's a Mariners shop in it. If I didn't know that, though, I'd call it the "Really Thin Slice of Pie" Building. It's seriously this strange wedge shaped building, taking up the last little bit of space before Olive and Stewart merge into a single street.

Of course, if you think the leaves look green in this photo (taken last Thursday), they've gotten increasingly green and thicker since I took it. :)

Yup, I love my office. :)

Ack!

I have much to post, and not a lot of time to post it. So for now...

NEW OFFICE! :)

I moved into my new office yesterday, and it's fabulous. Huge desk, more bookshelves than I know what to do with (yeah, that's saying a LOT!), and a door that closes. :) Also, funny conversation:

Jerome: I want you to wake me up at 10 tomorrow.
Me: Why?
Jerome: I have stuff to do. [said in a way like he's being sneaky]
Me: Do you want to come see my office?
Jerome: Maybe... [again with the sneaky]
Me: Are you bringing me flowers for my office?

Yes, I ruin all of my surprises. :) As it turned out, Jerome was not feeling up to waking up early this morning, so I told him that I was going down to the Market at lunch time anyway, to go to the bank and eat, so I would get myself some flowers from him. :) They are lovely, and smell wonderful. :)

Is this week dragging, or is it just me?

Seriously, I woke up this morning not believing that it's only Wednesday. I'm ready for the weekend already. (Well, actually, I'm not. I do have stuff I need to get done before Saturday.)

I suspect part of the reason for the drag of the week is that last week I was much busier in terms of work. This week, it's been a bit slower. But a good portion of that is due to the fact that I'm officially making the transition to the history division at work. In other words, I won't be an admin assistant any more as of May 1st. :) I have, however, told our office manager that I'll gladly help her out as time permits. But there's a whole lot of restructuring going on in the office, so she will also be getting someone else to help.

The most exciting part of this transition is the fact that I'm moving from my corner of the shared workspace to my very own office. With four walls and a door. This is super exciting for me, as it also means I get a much better view out my window than I currently have. Okay, so not that much better, when it comes down to it. I'll still be able to see the construction site, which isn't all that exciting. But I think I'll have slightly less construction site in my view. :)

So of course, when I get moved into my office, I'm know I'm going to end up bringing in some decorative stuff. Because I don't already have weird enough stuff on my desk... :) (For the record, right now it's limited to a couple of family photos, two Star Wars plushies, a mini Cthulhu, my new sea otter paperweight, and this little blue ninja guarding my computer tower. Oh, and the neon green plastic skeleton with a thumbtack through his neck... uh... yeah... :) )
